there are tons of releases of tangerine dream. honestly i do not own one single record of them.

could you please post the ones that are the best?

Rubycon is like a bruistablet

Re: tangerine dream

The tracks Going West and Lost In The Dunes on Flashpoint-soundtrack,

Other TD I got (so they were nice enough to buy for me somehow):
Le Parc: not so experimental anymore but still nice trippy short (for TD) tracks. Not their best but still o.k.
Phaedra: if you're in for a trip. wink 70's experimental stuff.
Rubicon: if you're in for another trip. Even deeper than Phaedra maybe.
Stratosfear: more melodic than Phaedra but still trippy.
Force Majeure: more rock-influenced, some tracks with long electric-guitar solo's), but also great arpeggiator-driven parts.
White Eagle: melodic and more lighthearted and calm, still rolling arpeggio's galore.
Thief: bought a week ago. Very nice.

The TD-LPs are mostly quite cheap so great value for money I'd say.

Re: tangerine dream

My favourite:

Tangerine Dream - Logos - Live At Dominion London 1982

others that are brilliant!:

Alpha Centauri
Electronic Meditation
Phaedra
Rubycon
Sorcerer (listened to this after a heavy night last night, brutal, grim, beastin)
Tangram
Firestarter
Poland

throwing in a wildcard, get Klaus Schulae - Mirage if you can... no reason, its just fucking amazing.

Re: tangerine dream

"Phaedra" is my favourite, no doubt about that. "Zeit" is also a massive album. For the rest: like meschi said smile

"A Real Music Hater"

Re: tangerine dream

Zeit + Atem + Phaedra = all-time top 3
as for the later stuff I love the Tatort 12" and Exit LP.. Risky Business soundtrack with Love On A Real Train too
they made hell of a lot of live albums, Logos and Poland being most noteworthy IMO
Poland is also a last decent TD album, I just can't stand their later stuff with digital flutes and all that shit

lärm macht spass!

Re: tangerine dream

in other words: you can get pretty much all of them until about '85.. they are cheap and easy to find, so just buy what you come across..

Re: tangerine dream

Phaedra, Cyclone, Rubycon
these are the three best IMO.

Re: tangerine dream

one day I'll be in a band that look exactly like this:

Re: tangerine dream

Exit
Rubycon
The Keep
Phaedra

Also love froeses solo ones and some great bits in thief, firestarter, Green desert and Tangram and many more. Not really a fan of Atem, Force majeure or zeit that much. Or much white eagle onewards. Too early = orchestral experimental mush, good period is analog sequencing, ppg lushness and such right up to hybrid digital/analog era of exit then rapidly down will all digital sound.

Notes: Special Sequence Mixed For Dancing

Re: tangerine dream

no one mentions Wavelength ost.

Yeah... uploading. Yousendit files are valid for only 7 days, and 2Shared is not really reliable... are there any other free upload sites?

Re: tangerine dream

I never was a Fan of T.D. - but as I read this thread I checked my stock and found `Exit` - which is pretty cool. I have to dig in my crates, may I find more interesting stuff of them smile
