jerry goldsmith's chinatown soundtrack is superb. he revists that sparse noir jazz sound on l.a. confidential soundtrack, too.

Hero Wouters - Een Zaak van Leven op Dood
Shamefully neglected dutch pioneer Hero Wouters and his mindblowing score for 1983 dutch film 'Een zaak van leven op dood'. Thankfully digged up by the wonderfull Enfant Terrible label, this has some early electro influences, mesmerizing synths flirting with dark electronics. Wouters has a great touch of melancholy and higly recommended imho. Bites can be found here: http://www.enfant-terrible.nl/enfant08
Love the eerie sounds of Herman Kopp, known from long time collaborating with eurohorror-connaisseur Jorg Buttgereit

Thanks for reminding me to this one, have that LP too and indeed it's very underrated, there's not a bad track on it.

It's no coincidence that it gets such high ratings on discogs.
