Re: Setting up a stream yourself?
how romantic...the CBS mother stream spawns hundreds of spinoff mini-streams...sounds like a good idea to me

my stream is relayed via a Server in the US...
I'll make some live DJing sessions, I'll inform you here when I do it ;-)
Kvantti : yep, the problem is always with VLC it's very strange...can you try foobar or another player ?
Bias : yes, interested in ;-)

Whoever wants to broadcast, can book and arrange a time and date...
AKA the CBS
doh, forgot we could do that before...
variety is the spice of life or someshit.
At the moment we have at least two refugee-streams running as far as I know:
X-Bobo Pitchounet:
http://pitchounet.serverroom.us:4360/live.ogg
and
U B E R M E N S C H [THE LOST CHANNEL] for freaks and droids:
http://62.131.93.71:8000/
We can try to organize more during this week by giving simple instructions on how to do it, then by setting up a topic for the listing of the addresses. Let's see if publishing as a playlist file or a RSS feed could be an option too.
I hope to be able to set the streaming software on my laptop so that I could broadcast from line-in at any location with internet connection such as parties and the afterparties - mixing in the ambience with internal microphone should be fun...
For live broadcasts from bigger parties relaying could be needed so let's look into that too!
excellent
I am trying this peercast technology right now... so far it is stable since 6 hours more or less...
But I need to do some testing outside of my home.
Bas roR: Confirmed, I hear you.
playing some tracks of my own now untill i get a nice playlist soRted.
I still have my server and tracklist from the Tunnelradio days. It wasn't difficould to set up a stream, that's for sure. Problem is the bandwith. That peer to peer streamingprogram was something I looked for yesterday but couldn't find. Will have a look today.
What actually should be nice is having a stream where people can log into to make there own program...
O well in the mean time the records from attic show will be a podcast in the mixes section
Let's put up a competitor.
I will be playing minimal synth, electronix, post-punk, synth punk etc. for an hour (if it works, that is)
Working great w/ 128 Kbps stream Henri!
Cool, thanks for listening!
Ok, shutdown. Thanks to whoever stayed on the lines
Ok, a mate of mine and I experimented with a small netradio some time back, and we still got everything needed to start up again. He's just as shocked as me about CBS closing down, so we are planning to put up a temporary stream again sometime tonight or tomorrow just to help ease the pain. I guess we'll just put a ton of CBS mixes, italo and italian soundtracks on shuffle or something and see how it goes. I think we can keep it running out summer if anyone's interested. Will keep you guys updated about how we progress.
I'm part of a local webradio station @ http://www.radiobanzai.nl
Its not 24/7 (yet) but 100% live, broadcasting in the evening.
its a variaty of styles (from beats, hiphop, dnb, tekno, techno, soul, rock, n roll, etc. ) about 12 different people doing shows, I play cbs'ish music about 60% of the time. we're slowly professionalizing the website and programme etc. My show is on Tuesdays 22:00 Amsterdam time. I'll keep u posted.
edit: oh and we have quite some bandwidth. Next Wednesday we have a meeting with all banzaimembers and we probably try to come up with a way to do 24/7 broadcasting. I might be interested in hosting robot music, get back you on that1.
please put the robot radio streams into the first post in the topic ^-^
Even better, I'll put up a new topic for this.
what's this message? (using nicecast on OSX)
"client/client_create server client limit reached"
i still got bandwidth to spare..?
edit: never mind - discovered the setting causing it..
fuck this rules, instead of one cbs now there are 3
I might get hold of a 2x100Mbit connections to the internet, still have to figure out the price, but I will get back to you on that
Hey roR, I can clearly hear you! That's so cool! Just wearing the shirt my former girlfriend bought from you with da waving robots.
