aaagh, there were so many great adventures back then, now i play whatever is released...
no such classics today
i guess you can't play them on play stations
the 2nd monkey island was the best one!
i played them when i was like 12 years old and i cheated with walk through guides from magazines. i wish that i could erase all my memories of it and go back and play it without cheating

are there any new point and click games? i think the last one i played was broken sword, which was pretty funny.
the newest ones I know of is like discworld noir and grim fandango, but they are not that new AT ALL!
Ive downloaded scummvm (search for it) and in the process of downloading a lucas arts pack with full throttle, all the monkey islands, grim fandango and more.
perfect for my train up to Glasgow at the end of the month.
played almost all of these as well

Good time to play that now if you haven't before... pretty cheapo 8,99e price tag for a "new" release too. Maybe Lucasarts is going to release others too.
I've always been a big fan of point'n'clicks too. I was pretty sceptic at first about Telltale Games' new episode style releases of Sam&Max. The first ones were just ok but they got better and better eventually. Recommended if you liked the classic Lucasarts adventure!
The first episode of Tales of Monkey Island was ok... hoping for the future episodes to develop better. Controls felt bit sucky at first since movement wasn't point&click.... it was WASD or holding down mouse button and steering with mouse. Game itself felt a lot better than the last Lucasarts Monkey Island anyway.
Sam & Max series are just brilliant. They said that they will make the same thing with Monkey Island, so I'm very looking forward to it
First monkey island still tops them all. Remember when guybrush finds the treasure and inside's a shirt saying
"I found the treasure of melee island and all i got was this lousy t-shirt"?? 
A pretty underrated one that i played recently was Dreamweb

gotta be the darkest and psychadelic game i've ever played, great music and storyline!
For the rest checkout "longest journey" from 2001, kinda nice mix of cyberpunk and fantasy with good humour,

Yeah, great games! Unfortunately the genre basically died in the mid/late 90s when FPS games become popular with their fancy 3d engines .. I liked Sierra games too, basically there were two camps back then, you either liked Lucasfilm or Sierra adventure games 
Well I liked both..
I suddenly remember a more modern one, Blade Runner, found it very cool and it captured the atmos of the film very well. It's got multiple endings and stuff and super cool locations.
started playing Secret Of Monkey Island Special Edition today...
it's nice to play it all over again, but i kinda prefer the overall feeling of the original
also to mention The Neverhood

there are so many nice point and clicks
with dosbox and scummvm u can play them all
my personal favourites are: maniac mansion 1+2, sam & max, indy 3+4, zak, Grim Fandango, the dig, i also like the new ones like vampire story or zak 2

i actually just downloaded this today! i don't think i've actually ever played one of these games right through without cheating, so i'm determined to now
where can you get the games? i take it you need to look for torrents? or maybe on usenet?
there is only a handful of freeware ones on the site...

lucasarts point and clicks were just so masterful.
