It's a space-combat (a la X-Wing / Tie Fighter) MMORPG (with trading/mining and character levelling) that developed by 4 man team. It runs on PC/Mac/linux. I did their free 8-hour intro and have come away impressed. It's also a bonus that it runs on fairly humble systems.
will have to try it, always looking for fun games which work on my macbook (not very game frienly machine). space is the place

Well its nice on my mac...but i hate playing a monthly fee for a game...
yep ... i haven't played Eve, but I get the feeling that it's more tactical, and point and click. This is very much about jumping in to a cockpit. There's also another game called jumpgate which is very similar and now being redone by codemasters i think.
