No one got any love for Event Horizon?
check also "Solaris" (1972) by Andrei Tarkovsky. Music by Eduard Artemyev.
Not the recent american remake...
Yep. Tarkovsky also made another favourite - 'Stalker'. Also great visually and also with a great Artemyev soundtrack. Any fans of sci-fi novels need to read the book it's based on too, 'Roadside Picnic' by Boris Strugatsky and Arkady Strugatsky.
Quite into some of the Miyazaki's animated sci-fi stuff lately, like 'Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind' or 'Laputa: The Flying Island' (great robot in Laputa!). Both have some nice moments on the soundtracks too (both are by Joe Hisaishi)

Amazing and funny Russian sci-fi. "Koo!"
you forgot the best one - eXistenZ
you're so true. Death to the demoness Alegra Geller!
yes David Cronenberg is totally worth searching true indeed!
"Videodrome" i also enjoyed very much, incl. the music by Howard Shore
Also John Carpenter same thing of course!
And don't forget "Liquid Sky" by Slava Tsukerman
with the soundtrack: "Me and My Rhythm Box"

also a big fan of cronenberg. he did a couple of great short films while still studying called 'stereo' and 'crimes of the future' - which can be bought together. a lot of the ideas in those films get carried forward in his later films like scanners and eXistenZ.

Event Horizon was really cool, I went into the theater having no idea what I was about to watch.
Has anyone seen Planet of the Vampire by Mario Bava? Pretty awesome movie, was a big influence on Ridley when he made Alien.
THX 1138
"Take four red capsules, In 10 minutes take two more. Help is on the way."

Don't ruin the experience by watching it in lousy resolution. There's some excellent rips of it available on various torrent sites

it's not a scifi movie, but a great compilation of motion and patterns combined with experimental editing: Man with Movie Camera by Dziga Vertov.
Don't forget the master James Cameron:
Terminatorbest B movie ever with excellent sound track.
Man the Terminator ost seriously rules...I listen to it all the time. Would have to be one of my favourite soundtracks
