Hi Karl. Forget about getting good coffee in Paris... They are rarely seen. Go for italian coffee bars if you want anything decent here.

There are some good second hand clothes stores in Marais (4th), like "Free P Star". There's also "Killiwatch" on Rue Tiquetonne, but it's expensive, and full of hipsters.

Don't miss the amazing falafels in Marais too! "Chez Marianne" on Rue des Rosiers is my favourite falafel place, it's a big place on a corner, you can't miss it. If you want a bit fancier food, try "Le Coude Fou" on Rue Bourg Tibourg, also in Marais. It's my favourite place here. three dishes and wine will cost you about 40-45

I stayed at Hotel Duret (nr Argentine) a couple of years back. Nice in a boutique kinda way, maybe they do some good deals?

Check out Le Relais de Venise (near Neuilly-Port Maillot) for top drawer entrecote & frites - no menu until deserts- everyone gets the same starter and main.

Also, authentic Vietnamese Pho on Avenue de Choisy (nr Place d'Italie)

Bimbo Tower is on the 1st floor of an apartment building, and has no signage at all, opens at noon!
realy nice for wave/industrial, and some great 2nd hand stuff too.
Saint-Ouen/Clignancourt Flea Market does open on monday, and worth a visit too

was pretty unlucky 2 times i went there (just found  "fuego -usted" and & a lizzy mercier descloux 12" i can't remember)

hello from a vagabond robette!

i am going to paris from the 9th till the 20th, and happily found a robot-friendly disco-party at batofar on the 15th!  so if any of you are going to this , chime on in, i'd love to meet you!

for the rest of the time, i'll be guiding around my brother who has never been to europe, so prolly some touristy stuff.  however, we both love anything related to science and electronics, and off the beaten path kind of stuff, so please let me know of any dusty museums with old electro-mechanical contraptions , stuff like that.   also wondering what's left (if anything) of the squat parties / free parties that were going on last time i lived there which was in 2001, and also there were a few abandoned buildings which became artists studios ("electron libre" was the name of one i believe...) i'm into exploring that stuff too.  soooo.....  if you are in paris, let's chat!
