WOW! On the one hand, it's a shocker. Hadn't heard this news yet! On the other hand..
I had the great blessing of seeing them live a few years back. While all of the greatness of their traditional sound was there (to my ears at least) one could also hear the subtle influence of a slightly more modern sound. I mean no disrespect, but it was almost "clubby" with the 909ish sounds doing a little pumping in the background. Seeing some of the remix artists chosen to work on new projects and such... UR? Very cool! Some of the others... well... different strokes, I guess. But it's Kraftwerk and ya gotta love 'em!
More than anything, I hope that everything is good between the four of them. My gut tells me that it is unlikely and just a matter of wanting to work on different individual things, but it would be a huge bummer if there were anything gone sour between the lads. After everything they've done, they deserve nothing but the best!

No you didn't,
Florian Schneider did not perform on any of the dates of the Kraftwerk 2008 world tour.
His position onstage was filled by Stefan Pfaffe, an associate working for the band as a video technician.
According to a close friend of the group, on the 21st of November, Schneider supposedly left Kraftwerk.
On the 5th of January 2009, the official Kraftwerk fan site, Technopop, confirmed Florians departure.

i guess it's official right now...it was some time ago when he didn't performed with Kraftwerk.

I'm really happy that I got tickets for the concert in april (wolfsburg, germany)...probably one of the last chances to see their live performance, even it's not the original setting...

So sad to hear of the breakup of this partnership 
But wow, that would be one of my ultimate lineups for a concert ever...wish I could be there...even if I would be in tiny pieces all night....!
