does it work both ways? wouldn't the zombie have to bite the dog? And would you go for a staffy or a bull terrier, i'd get a wolf hound or something big. Maybe a pack of doberman

There are so many animals that would make horrible zombies. Imagine being attacked by an undead turtle, even slower than when it was alive.

And never mind the dobermanns and such, what about all the little yapping granny dogs? I can see it now - the carcass of an old woman stumbling down the street, groaning, and looking for a brain to eat. And in her hand is a little tote bag, and in that tote bag is little zombie coco, yapping

They can in some movies! in Land of The Dead they wade through the river. I guess you can throw a flip flop at them

I could see that being a really good movie, if they could capture the fact that the whole world is fucked outside of that island.

alas zombies don't need to swim as they do indeed walk across the bottom of rivers, lakes and oceans read 'world war z' (best book i read this year)

This seems like a perfect thing to waste time with so here is my list uh or just a few of them:

Primary weapon: A good semi automatic assault rifle, no need for anything with huge firepower or fast firing stuff, that will only waste bullets...identify target first - shoot. Stay cool. Stay in Control.
Something that uses standard ammo which would be easy to find in a post zombie apocalyptic world. Reliability under muddy circumstances and easy maintainment is a pro. There is only one option basicly...AK47 maybe with a detachable sniper kit

Secondry weapon: Something with a long stick and sharp edge to fight zombies with in close "hand to hand" combat
A Hayfork or a very sharp sword. A Japanese katana sword will do fine as you can carry it easier then a Hayfork

For the sidekick I will swap Dwight for a good trained german sheperd dog. Not for attacking the zombies because the dog will die of poisoning but sniffing them if they are in the neighbourhood (and people that might not yet be zombified but are infected!) and ofcourse strategic herding of the zombies.
