Miami Connection

Birdman - that is a good movie
Better call saul -> any good?
Better call saul -> any good?
Watched the first episode. If i didn't know that the writers did breaking bad, i wouldn't want to watch ep2.. Hopefully it gets better.
Wallander series 3
A friend kindly put me on to this film - holy shit! I'd seen Jordorowsky's the Holy Mountain before, but had no idea about this project...sad, uplifting, hilarious documentary.
Wasn't looking at Hendricks' knockers.

Yes it does! Just watched ep3.
So yes, I watched Fifty Shades of Grey. And yes, it's bad. To be true, it wasn't as bad as I expected. But it's still bad enough. I wanted to stand up and leave the cinema at least 3 times. But then didn't. But it was hard to take. I hated her and I hated him. They are both terrible. Everything about this movie is pretty terrible. And don't get me started about the end. Argh. Will I watch the sequel? Probably..
It is Glasgow film festival on at the moment. I've managed to catch two interesting films today:
Radiator
This was a very nicely done, low budget British film on old age and complex family relationships. Very good stuff for a debut director.
Li'l Quinquin
This was supposed to be made as a tv series and all of the episodes have been put together to make a 3+ hour long beast. I was very intrigued about this one, and I'm glad to have now seen it but I'm not sure it works as well as a full long film. Would be better in small chunks I reckon. It's certainly very funny at points at the Police inspector is superb with his overly expressive mannerisms and nutty comments. There is a brilliant funeral scene as well.
Dreamcatcher
New Dogwoof documentary. This one is about a prostitution charity called Dremacathcer run by Brenda in Chicago. Extremely hard hitting and sad documentary.
The Falling
This was the best thing saw at the festival. By Uk filmaker Carol Morley. The sound/visual mania you get in this film reminded me a bit of films by other recent British directors like Peter Strickland (Berberian Sound Studio) and Ben Wheatley (A Field in England). The soundtrack by Tracey Thorn from Everything but the girl is good too.
Ah, ye olde Slackbladder..
