Re: Football
Prior to Sweden's game vs Germany I was impressed with the German WC qualifying statistics:
In 77 matches (now 78) they had only lost 2 games EVER (in 78 years)
The first one was a game against Portugal in 1985 (not important to the Germans who had already qualified for Mexico WC 1986). Unfortunately the result meant Sweden did not qualify to Mexico.
The second one was when England, led by Swedish Sven, humiliated Germany with 1-5.
Another interesting observation I did was that in the last 15 years (from 1997) Germany have played against Finland four times (WC qualification games) and all the matches have finished with a draw.
So in four tries Germany has not been able to beat Finland even once. That's amazing.
I mean this is Football, not Hockey.
On the other hand they haven't lost either.
It will be interesting to follow the rest of the qualification games
