Topic: Italo Scene in Mexico (w 49min Youtube clip incl Tobias Bernstrup)
I have heard about the amazing Italo/Hi-NRG scene in Mexico for some years and it’s an interesting phenomena.
A couple of years ago I spoke with Pascal Languirand (Trans-X frontman who lives in Mexico since some years and is quite familiar with the global Hi-NRG scene, I assume) when he was in Stockholm for a live performance.
He told me about the Mexican Italo clubs (Patrick Miller etc) organizing Italo nights every weekend with hundreds of guests.
It’s like in Italy in the middle of the 80’s, only 30 years later
According to Pascal, the Mexican scene is outstanding compared to the rest of the world.
I found a 49 minute film on Youtube showing a bit of what’s going on over there.
On the night in question, Tobias Bernstrup is performing and is featured in the film.
Too bad I don’t understand Spanish but I found the video interesting anyway
Most of the DJ’s in the film seem quite experienced and deliver some good old classic italo tracks.
To be honest I find the audience/guest in the video quite boring (not many people dancing) but perhaps most of them were just shy to dance in front of the camera?
As far as I’ve heard, there use to be a lot more action going on.

I heard Tobias Bernstrup just came home to Stockholm the other day from another trip to Mexico and he is perhaps even more excited this time.
Are there any robots who knows more about the Mexican scene?
Perhaps someone speaking Spanish could contribute with a short translation of some of the interviews with the DJ’s and other Mexicans?
P.S. In the end, then Tobias Bernstrup is interviewed, his short Swedish comment is “Mexico, you rule!”
Violets are blue,
All of my base,
Are belong to you.
