Topic: software good for recording 4+ hours nonstop without crashing?

Logic is not good for this.

Any ideas?  I hear audio hijack could work pretty well...

Are you using Mac or PC?

If you're using PC I would say give Cool Edit Pro a try. As long as you have enough memory and set up the virtual disks correctly it should do the job.

For Mac, I have no solid suggestions, except perhaps Audacity.

I think the best idea is to go for the least flashy, least processor and memory intensive program.

Since you mention Audio Hijack I assume you're on Mac? In that case: maybe Adobe Audition... It's available as a free beta for Mac now. Well you got it for pc too of course, but not for free smile

Come to think... Audio Hijack is a stream recorder. Is that what you're looking for, something to record longer streams?

i asume you want to record a dj mix or something?

I always use Adobe Soundbooth on my mac for this.. never had problems with this program for recording my mixes.

I use GoldWave on a Windows PC and I even managed to record 9+ hours with it... just make sure you configure the temp folder to be on a partition with enough space (no matter which tool you are using)

i'll give audacity a shot. 

Mainly i need to it record dj sets / live sets.

For me, Audacity has been very very unstable

Never had any troubles with audacity under osx and xp.
