Topic: Sysex Fried my Machine

I was trying to set up my Bitstream 3x to work with my oberheim matrix6r and with the turn of the a knob my Matrix froze up and will not start up again. Has anyone heard of sysex doing this to a piece of gear?

I've had sysex freeze something, but not to the point it won't start again.  I would have thought it was unlikely for midi commands to do any real damage.  I'm not familiar with the matrix, have you tried resetting it?  Then obviously you want to check your sysex programming is correct.  You might be sending an unrecognizable parameter or overloading it with messages.

thanks, I turn it on while pressing the "store" button. It calibrated, then it was back in business
