This is probably my last deployment of Apple Xserves, as they are now discontinued. I thought I'd post a picture of this ok looking stack 
This is an Xsan install for the post production facility I manage. In the meantime I am also deploying a transcoding cluster on Linux boxes, and Windows (!) boxes... picture will come.
What are you up to at work? Post some pictures or whatever else?

i'm a business controller, which means i sit on top of the money and try to stop IT managers from getting their grubby hands on it without a proper business reason.
im currently in merge hell.. i work in the software industry!
inkinen - you using subversion by any chance? 
i'm also a programmer (C#): right now we're 2 months away from shipping our latest new product... things are gonna start getting busy in march, a lot of overtime i suspect...
im on vacation...startin' from monday will learn adding & subtracting hundreds,animals all over the world , the idea of habitat plus other things
jacderida> we use mercurial for version control! its not so much mercurial which is quite good at handling merges but more the way we do stuff here with plenty of paralell development going on..
finally it built without errors.. 
ahh ok, yeah, i thought those distributed version control systems were supposed to be great for branching and merging - we're still stuck on subversion in here...

@ inkinen/jacderida: i can never stop being jealous of programmers. I enjoy a little bash scripting and writing small cocoa applets with a friend/colleague of mine every now and then and wish I could do that for a living...guess I studied the wrong sheez.
@ heifetz: I'm not a pure IT manager, more Audio/Video/Broadcast background, but I feel in the same position of some when trying to get new kit... I say release the money to the poor IT managers, what's a business case anyway?

a business case is when i get a nice watch in return
jacderida> merges are handled just fine.. and when mercurial cannot do it its back to either kdiff3 or meld for doing it the manual way. lots of other problems though!

I'm currently a bit in the middle tho, with coordinating acceptance testing the implementation of a risk management application for a large dutch bank. Commercial product, although you wouldn't say with the amount of bugs we found in it... that already delayed the project by 4 months now.
