Topic: Dj Workshop Recommendations.

Hey,

Recently starting giving Dj workshops for community organisations and the like.
Just wondering if anyone else out there is doing something similar and has some recommendations for making workshops as enjoyable for the participants as possible.

I've done things like introduce them to the equipment, queuing, beatmatching etc.
Feel tho it might just be too technical and not as pleasurable as it could be.
Any ideas for some other stuff?

Re: Dj Workshop Recommendations.

I have done some dj workshops in the past. I guess if the students want to learn djing they have to put in a lot of time, money and effort. They can't learn it simply from your teacher skils and enthousiasm alone. Most of the kids I had found it awesome to stand in the dj booth and just mess around a bit with the equipment. The one or two who didn't loose interest were mostly the ones that knew a bit more about musical genres and had their own collection of music.
Perhaps an interactive and fun lesson in the history of dancemusic like Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music?
