I just found out and I am exhilarated! Now I just need to create more content!
Woo-hoo!
The stream link isn't working here?
Is it working for you?
me neither..
turns off media player
I'm tuned in.
great idea tuned in.
VLC on mac itunes wont play it
Aaah! Good news.
It is with mixed feelings i move around in the the old CBS vaults.
It feels like a silent graveyard and even if there is people logged on it feels like your totally cut off.
But it feels good anyhow. Yesterday i just started to read the Playing Right Now topic for some music-tips and it felt so strange reading stuff from back in 2005.
After having read around 35 pages it felt a bit like CBS was much more vibrant back in those days
nice. rocking with moodymann now
I'm tuned in and listening to DJ KASSETTSPILLER - Tropical Fruits Micromix (rocking mix!), so I'd like to download but I can't find it anywhere on robotdj.net, weird... Kassettspiller does not have his own folder and search gives no results.
I thought RobotDJ Radio was only playing stuff that had been uploaded there?
Kassettspiller originally submitted it to the CBS as requested in the "15-30 minute mixes needed" thread. I guess that means some of the mixes stashed in the cbs database are going to robotdj.net... if so then
must be, because that moodymann mix isn't on robotdj.net either.
wont play on iTunes here either
Itunes doesn't play aac. Use VLC.
I kind of had a feeling this was next thing to come. Live radio is going the way of the dinosaur unless it can be heard everywhere. CBS might have had a chance if you could literaly pull it from space like XM radio or something.
But this way more people can contribute their own podcasts. So shows like rude's or smackos' or whoevers can still survive. Hell, even a live request-o-la might still be possible. But i think the downloads of shows at robotdj.net were way more popular than the actual stream. That's probably why the system is being rebuild. I know that i more often downloaded a show than listen to it on the stream...

I'd post a topic in the 'Addicts' section requesting it from other robots. I'm sure someone might have it.
Re: VLZ only and no iTunes: Apple needs to get their act together. WTF?
Would be the bestest thing if we saw a "RobotDJ Player" for Mac for this stream as well!

agreed
i hope Maurits is ok with me posting this, but you can tweek your RobotPlayer easily.
1. go inside your robotplayer/contents/resources and open 'streamsources.plist' in a text editoR.
2. add this to it above the first <dict>
<dict>
<key>demuxer</key>
<string>aac</string>
<key>text</key>
<string>RobotDJ.net</string>
<key>url</key>
<string>http://209.9.238.150:8000/R4R</string>
</dict>
2b. and if you want roRbot FM in there too, also add:
<dict>
<key>demuxer</key>
<string>audio</string>
<key>text</key>
<string>roRbot FM</string>
<key>url</key>
<string>http://77.250.148.210:8000/listen</string>
</dict>
select streams in the preferences. (but you knew that)
WOO-HOO! Thanks so much Bas!
hehe and now it won't woRk anymore cause the stream seems to have switched to mp3.
so mac users can tune in with itunes now.
a fix for the code above: change <string>aac</string> into <string>audio</string>.

that is a good idea. Although I have like tons and tons of names written down from those long listening nights, the amount of info is endless! And that toppic is a great way to start. Its nice to read all the excitment, when you just couldn't handle how fucking good the music comin' out was!

So Robotplayer will play the mp3 stream w/ this fix?
harhar, bas ror giving away all the secrets :-) no prob though. Have been thinking about a more permanent solution myself, but didn't want to put out anything until the situation has stabilized a bit. Generally speaking, however, expect a continuation of good Mac infrastructure for robots.
Word, Maurits, word.
Using itunes now, happy to be listening
