Topic: My first bootleg

as the title said, a bootleg of one of my project, Mujahideen was released few days ago, as part of local DIY magazine called Public School.
well, we kind of knew it's gonna happen, and it made us amused. they recorded one of our gigs few months ago.

today i received email from a friend, ask what is this shit? it appears that it sound awful.

i mailed them and ask for few copies, i've got to know how bad is it.
but i can wait, i'm going to buy a copy.

people take effort to release your own music? means they love it! and, isn't it all about love?

Re: My first bootleg

@Freek + smackos: thanks

i went and bought the CD-R, it was 10 Shekels (around 2 euro), it was funny to go and buy your own music.
well, it sound bad, i think they have recorded that on a tape from the crowed, not even connected it to the PA mixer
i EQed it a little and it's hearable. you can hear the people cheering between the songs and even some girl saying something like "they are great", and a guy at the end of the show shutting "one more song".

@Kuczera
i'm not pissed and can't say i'm elated, as i said i'm amuse and flattered, which is strange i guess if it would sounded little worst then it is i would be pissed. on the other hand i was afraid it would sound good, then it might be a problem for our future release, but it sound like "i wonder how they sounded in the studio"...

what else, they mention on the cover that it's not an official release and that buyer should and recommended to check official release. bummer we only releases one single and i don't think it's available

Re: My first bootleg

hehe you should be proud: people taking the efford of doing that means there is a market for the music somewhere smile

indeed
i even got an italo disco compilation all made by israely artist in the 80's  smile

Israel is like Thailand when it comes to copyright laws
you could buy recently released dvd-r on every street corner, that's what it was like when
I've been there 6 years ago, in fact i got a better copy of the Matrix sequel there for like $1,50
then u could get in Bangkok around the same time

Re: My first bootleg

@Duran
Microscopic Moves smile wow! thanks.

@e,r
oops, i guess i was enthusiastic yesterday, what i meant was, that there is not serious music market here.
espaically for our kind of music.
as for what you said about copyright laws, they try to fight it real hard. the situation is not like you mention anymore.
but if you can still find those places in more dodgy places.

can you tell the name of the compilation you mention, sounds interesting.

I was told one of the singers here is the local Cicolina (porno actress turned government minister) which makes
this kind of rare,,,
only a couple of the tracks are real good - rest is a bit too poppy, for my liking
