I want to hear the Muravchix song Replicant's Lament (from one half of Heartbreak)
From the clips it sounds very good in a freak electrique stylee
annoying pseudo-ironic tripe
"02-dont loose my time"
L-O-S-E goddammit!
Don't like it. And I'm wondering - what's the difference between this and all that other electroclash stuff robots love to hate? If it weren't on clone, nobody would have made it a topic on robotsforrobots. Whatever.
Edite: Hope it doesn't sound too bitchy, wasn't my intention. I just find it funny that this particular release - electroclash at its best - is being discussed on this particular board.
But hey, I'm feeling guilty now. If you enjoy this one - fine!
Is the first track "were back" a cover? It sounds so familiar... Yeah, the whole album sounds like other music but this particular song I've heard earlier. And "poison" sounds also as if it is is a cover.
I like it b.t.w...
Ah, got this record which explains the familiarity http://www.discogs.com/release/1113429
sure so it was cool when it came out on underground label Lycra now that the boys got more recog and released on Lex people trash on it , typical.
scarface:
we're back I think has something of jock hattle to be or not to be.
At least when I whistle one the other came right up.
this should be in addicts
this should be in addicts
sorry.
I guess I'm a sucker for cheesy music.
My last clone order....
Z-Factor
Medio Mutante
Hieroglyphic Being- Medusa Edits#1
heartbreak- lies....
Twilight Moose- Embrace the Loneliness
My friend who I pooled the order with didn't like the heartbreak record either, well at least not the vocals.
I can see where it'd be called electroclash, i guess, but i think these guys don't really seem that "sceney" (none of the songs seem to be about drugs, and sex with underaged girls/boys) and are more about making funky music.
I really like the vocals on some tracks, that guy can sing really good imo.

c'mon, ali is not fisherspooner, nor tiga. He knows what he's doing. And you can hear it. You might not like it, that's fine, but dismissing it so I think is a bit snobby.
I like some tracks.Heartbreak is makin nice stuff.
Feel no guilty though....
I think (imo!) it's a bit unfair to "incense" artists once and then pound them (mainly when they're makin the same stuff but on different labels and format)...
Could we just appreciate it.. or not ?
It's ironic, it's called "metalo", NME/Dazed/I-D/Guardian/etc. speak of it as the next big thing/the next stage of disco, they wear white suits, their tracks are about: dancing, robots, lies...
Seriously, what's the difference? Sure, it's called "metalo" this time, but apart from that, there is no real difference, is there? Why would Heartbreak be superior to, for example, Tiga? I just don't get it.
That's my main point - enjoy it, that's fine with me, but don't claim it to be more than it is.
I didn't know Heartbreak before this thread, so I didn't even know they used to be "underground".

Hmmm .. the next big thing haha... That's another story !
But if some big ones decided it ... what can we do !!!

he he i should say the same
@c. it's not on clone it's on lex
it's a great album
I only first heard about them last month when I was in Vancouver and they opened for The Presets and Cut Copy. My wife and I had an awesome time. At first the hipsters were like "Who are these clowns?" but by the end they sucked everyone in and everyone is dancing. They seem sincere about how much they love the 80s. Especially Sebastien, I don't think he's faking any of that shit and lives every day thinking it's 1985. At one point he nervously said how excited he was to play in Canada for the first time because of all the records that came from here. They should go to Montreal. Their heads would explode.
His voice is great. Without vocals the record would be very boring and not catch the spirit of what they're doing. I think they should cover Moral Support's "Living With Passion." His voice sounds like that guy's.
But it does grate. My wife and I had the CD in our rental car that weekend. The first time we were pumping our fists, the second time we were tapping our toes and the third time in two days after also seeing them in concert we realized that we might have to leave it alone until we got home.
I don't buy the bullshit metalo tag though and that there is anything new about this music. Their music is from hinrg and they candidly admitted as such. They're like Ural 13 Diktators with vocals and it's great that this kind of music won't be forgotten.

That describes my feelings about this.. it ages a bit too fast for me.. prob. nice to see live tho'
Where did they play in Vancouver? Not that electro / metalo a town.
I really like the record. and as Smackos said, the vocals are very good. Nothing more to say. ??
bmx, did you mean to say...
"I DONT LIKE DA LOOK OF IT"

It's not bad, but the overall feeling is comparable to watching the class swot looking well smug after getting an A+...you just wanna call him names and bully him, but you cannot 'cos he got it right.
Ali and Seb know there stuff - as someone proably mentioned earlier they release loads under different guises - Cestrian, Ali Renault, Muravchix through Cyberdance, Human Shield, dissident - some really good releases
I don't think it's 'ironic' or like 'electroclash' - things get played up by the press machines. Regret & we're back are very good tunes.
Heartbreak's first 12" released by themselves on their Lyrca label is class!
i'd rather listen to gary low than pretend im gary low
