crackling can be caused by many things (as does not crackling..;-)

for instance if a record has crackling in it, set the weight of your needle higher, and it usually goes away. it also varies per cratridge if its there or not.. so maybe on stefano's copy its there, but his cartridge doesn't pick it up.



komakino does not come in a normal cover, but only in a standard 7" plain paper sleeve....

tried at several weight with ortofon concorde pro & concorde elektro cartridges and still no crackling here... so no bad pressing i would say

sometimes unplayed records can have static tics and crackles at the first play(s)

Sponooch is great as well, wish you luck with finding the 12" (if you don't already have it).  The Monte-Cristo 12" is easier to find, turns up from time to time.  I actually like Monte-Cristo more than Sponooch, probably b/c I absolutely love the Animals version of "House Of The Rising Sun".
