Replace D&R mixers?

Hi,

I'm looking for some advice regarding my mixing setup. I'm currently running a setup in which I combine two D&R mixers to extend to up to 22 channels. The mixers I have is one 16ch D&R series 900, one 10ch D&R series 1000, the latter is set as sub to the former.

I have a problem with my series 1000 however, the channels are unreliable, they drop out from time to time. I had a qualified technician look at it but no obvious source of the problem could be found. Investigating it more profoundly is likely to cost as much as a new mixer.

Therefore I am considering selling both D&R's and replacing the combo with a 32ch mixer. I found that the soundcraft spirits are quite affordable but I'm wondering whether I can expect a similar level of quality from those as I have with the D&R now. (e.g. headroom, eq quality, even the distortion sound if pushed)

If any of you have switched from D&R to another brand, I'm interested to hear your experiences, what did you gain what do you miss.
