Topic: What am I missing in my big tunes mix....

I am working on a mix, using the songs below. I feel that all these songs are connected somehow, beyond the fact that they are mostly pop, but also that they have big emotions, or big melodies. I will just be using 30 to 90 seconds from each song.

Please suggest any that would suit the theme: ones that I have failed to think of.

I wouldnt stick to 30-90 sec. I think its cooler to just do it mega-mix style.

Hey, that Wamdue Project thing is Chris Brann, a pretty good deep house (and more) producer.

Now that Eiffel 65 - Blue, I can't say anything good about that.



About the songs: I suggest Sweet Dreams.

Thanks for the suggestions, I think I will add Sweet Dreams and Let's Dance, there has to be a Bowie.

Take the dancy 12" version of Forever Young or the quite similar demo version, which is more or less the original... (the slightly different lyrics will make all listeners very attentive... wink

Thanks guys, haven't heard that demo version of Forever Young before. Really like it. Still can't decide which Depeche Mode to use.

Am taking the advice to do it Megamix style, and am only going to use less than 30 seconds per song.

Yeah, as I said, the 12" extended version of FY is more or less based on the original demo version.

The demo of the gorgeous SOUNDS LIKE A MELODY (one of the greatest loves of my life, musically wink) is also very nice... Please notice that the repitition of the chorus always was sung a bit higher... Unfortunately the original version misses this nice detail (the repitition of the chorus is only a simple copy there sad).

If you want to choose a depeche MODE track, than take EVERYTHING COUNTS!!! (please not the lame ones like PAP, JCGE, ETS or whatever...)

If you want big emotions add a Vivian Vee song as well... one of the usual suspects but it would fit nicely in the list... But it also seems like it is a bit of a hit thing as well so in that case maybe a Prince or Queen song? Good luck with the mixing!

This mix is definitely missing some Prince; I'd go with When doves cry even though it might be an obvious choice.

Also Simple Minds - Theme For Great Cities

Maybe some Tears for Fears; The hurting, Pale Shelter, Mad World or some other?
