Topic: Moving Records (Within Europe)

Hey,

Just wondering if anyone out there has any experience of moving records within Europe.

All my stuff is back in the midlands of Ireland, I'm now living in Madrid.

I'm half thinking of trying to drive them across over the Summer but am conscious that it would be a princely price to do so.

Anyone have any recommendations for moving with shipping companies or whatever?

I'd probably take a few hundred of them across, maybe more depending on price. Then turntables, mixer and all that stuff.

I shipped mine from Berlin to Bristol - it cost about 70 euro for 300-350 records (that was two boxes)
I packed about 30-40 records in those 25 record boxes and stuck 4 of them in one of those 130 record boxes put bubble wrap on the inside of the box, bubblewrap on the outside, then taped cardboard over the bubblewrap.

None of the records were destroyed. This was DHL

Was it personal or private (company) shipping?

I'm not sure, I just took them to the DHL office.
Are you still in Madrid? I am there also.

Yeah, I'm in Madrid. Gonna go back to Ireland over the Summer to sort out the records.

DHL all the way. Great service. Round a euro a kilo, including VAT and insurance.

Excellent. Best customer service I think I've ever dealt with. Couldn't recommend enough..
