My tagline hasn't resulted in me knowing any more about dark italo yet, so I thought I'd throw this out out there--
tell me everything you know about dark italo
Can you define it? Favorite songs?
it's from those guys who would have preferred to make a dark wave or EBM release. but then lombardoni told them to make it a more melodic and upbeat.

"Darkest" i heard maybe so far is in flemmings mix...calice - shaking romance. I would throw ghibli into the category perhaps, but i think of it almost more as an electro tune.
Kirlian Camera stuff always seemed pretty 'dark' to me....
yes Flemming has a mix ( 30 min. or something) really great trackselection, fits very well the dark italo topic
yeah good point tim, especially since they became "goth" later on. Eclipse is still my fave tune from them...and fo course communicate instrumental 
I dont consider that twilight tune very dark though...reminds me of vivien vee - higher

Even a lot of "normal" italo has a dark, melancholic edge to it. It's a fine line between dark and light...

perhaps you'd better be off with some mnml wave, there are tons like it. All the veronika stuff fits in it.
ghibli - twilight - art fine - vanexa - decadance - disasters - east wall - greta strike - jimi k - larry day - nord est - mark (dreamland)... just few of my favourites
yeah, if you like victrola, check monuments, chromagain, the first pankow 12", all kirlian camera up until 85/86, east wall, neon (esp 'my blues', as J5 suggested)...fuck, maybe even weimar gesang...definitely more on the wave tip, tho...
